She was predeceased by: her husband Rudy Schroeder; her parents, Edward Thoms and Hanna Steinke; and her sisters, Lydia (Arthur Preston) and Alma (Louis Dahms).

She is survived by: her daughter Sylvia "Sue"; her son-in-law Michael Furtner; and her granddaughters, Heidi, Zoë and Astrid.
