He was predeceased by: his parents, Mary Margaret Piché and John William Burgess; his brothers, Orville and Bruce; his close friend Diane Philippe; and his son William.
He is survived by: his children, Phoebe, May, Bruce and Tom; the mother of his children Laura Trowsse; and his siblings, Leo, Ruth (Roy Byce), George, Delmer (Doreen Bennet), Alice, John (Ellen Rutledge) and Stephen Waterson. He is also survived by his many nieces and nephews.
