He was predeceased by: his father Stanley Richard Smyk; his grandparents, Roland Smyk, Jennie Krupa, Howard and Claudine Makely; and his uncle Adam Zygmuntowicz.

He is survived by: his children, Sara, Louis, Lili and Biscuit; his close friend Sylvie Baillargeon; his mother Hélène Makely; his siblings, Tanya Smyk (Andrew Hanlon) and Christopher Smyk (Andrea Hiscock); his godson Robert Jonathan MacMinn (RJ); his niece Jaime Smyk; and also, Louis, Lili, Sara Olympia Smyk, Paul Baillargeon and Yolande Gadoury. He is also survived by Many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and very close friends.
