He was predeceased by: his parents, Leon R. Matteson and Thelma E. Fonner; his wife Mary Carr; his son Michael A. Matteson; and his siblings, Musetta Irene Hauptman, Richard, Ronald and Thomas Leon Matteson.
He is survived by: his children, Gayle A. Matteson of Hillsboro and Robert Jeffery Matteson (Janice) of Aurora; and his brothers, Jerry Lynn Matteson of Decatur and James Edward Matteson of Pennsylvania. He is also survived by six grandchildren, two great-grandchildren.
