He is survived by: his wife Ruth Goodman; his children, Jo Ann (Aziel Stock), Jeffrey (Anat Gerstein) and Brian Gerstein (Deborah Rowe); his great grandchild Brooks Leo Gerstein; his siblings, Dr. William (Billy), Eliane Gerstein and Abe (Karen Gerstein); and his siblings-in-law, Eleanor, Joel Goodman and Roslyn August.
