He was predeceased by: his parents, Norman Hammond and Lauretta Wilson; and his brother Ted (Mary Ann). He is survived by: his wife Louise; his son Ian; his daughter-in-law Marie-Pier; his siblings, Bruce (Dale) and Heather (Robert); his brothers-in-law, Normand (Suzanne) and Paul (Cathy); and his nieces and nephews, Mark, Trevor, Tiara, Holly and Kim.

While the family does not wish to impose donations, if people feel the need to, the family would like them to support cancer research foundations across their communities.
