He was predeceased by: his parents, Robert McGuire and Ida McGuire (Briggs); and his siblings, Marlowe, Donald, Neil, Richard, Gordon, Perley, Betty, Irma and Verna.

He is survived by: his wife Carolyn Gladys McGuire (Muir); the father of his child Cate McGuire (Wayne Rosberg) of Toronto; his grandchildren, Peter and Bree Rosberg; his son Dean (Theresa) of Ancaster; his grandchildren, Matthew and Emma McGuire; his son Chris (Amber) of Calgary, AB.; his grandchildren, Hunter, Scotia and Merrik McGuire; and his brother Carl McGuire (Nancy) of Grimsby. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews and cousins.
