He was predeceased by: his father Ferdinand Laporte; his wife Geraldine Béchamp; his daughters, Helene, Claudette and Nicole (Jean Ippersiel); and also Florence Mousseau.
He is survived by: his children, Linda (Thomas Donnelly), Brian (late Lyn), Vivianne (Fern Gravelle), Bobby (Michelle) and John (Diane); and his stepchildren, Sylvie (Gilles Mousseau) and Jeannot Bertrand. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
