He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas V. O'Neill and Juanita O'Neill (Frost); and his brother George O'Neill. He is survived by: his wife Sandra O'Neill; his sister Patricia Johnston; and his daughters, Georgann Martinez, Teresa Meade and Lisa Collin. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.
