She was predeceased by: her father Paul George Joseph. She is survived by: her mother Beverly Jean Wiggins (Nelsen) of Torrington; her husband Walt Thornton of Wheatland; her children, Desiree, Jeremy Dworak of Cheyenne and Reynaldo Martinez, Jr. of Tempe, Arizona; her stepsons, James Thornton (Courtnee) of Wheatland and Jonathan Thornton of Wheatland; her siblings, Larry Blakeman, Marvin Wiggins (Tammy), Randall Wiggins (Cindy), Karen Schultz (Mike) and Florence Davis (Glen); her stepgrandchildren, Avelyn Thornton, Jensen Thornton, Maddison and Anastacia Dworak; and her great grandchild Paizley Dworak.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, May 3rd 2025 at 1:00 PM at the First Baptist Church (1252 Pine St, Wheatland, WY 82201).
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made in Elly's honor to the Elly Thornton Memorial account at Platte Valley Bank that the family will use to help support research for PSP and support local community benevolence.
