He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Boulden and Nellie Boulden (Amburgey); his siblings, James Boulden and JoAnna Bruce; and his nephews, Barry Boulden and Jeff VanBuren.

He is survived by: his sister Frances VanBuren; and his grandchildren, Kristen Reed Morrow, Brendon Reed, Autumn Reed Ostlund, Tyler Lampert, Trevor Lampert, Jared Carmichael and Danielle Carmichael Heaton. He is also survived by his wife of 64 years, three daughters and sons-in-law.
