He is survived by: his wife Johanna Abernathy; his son Tyler Abernathy; his siblings, Don, David Abernathy (Teresa) of Longmont, Colorado, Barb Lovett (Frank) of Longmont and Nancy Ealey (Vern) of Loveland, Colorado; his brothers-in-law, William Regan (Mary) of New Haven and Michael Regan (Mary Anne) of Pittsfield; and his close friend Ace.
