He was predeceased by: his parents, James O. Cotant and Dorothy M. Cotant (Brower); his half-brothers, Don and Dale Overton; and his brothers, William and James, Jr..
He is survived by: his wife Marilyn Jean Lee of Mitchell, NE; his sons, Casey (Kristi) of Coeur d'Alene, ID and Brian (Becky) of Buffalo, WY; his grandchildren, Landon, Camden, Logan, Coeur d'Alene, Paxton and Kaelyn; his brother Mike Cotant (Vonnie) of Gering, NE; his sister-in-law Idona of Overton, KY; and also Marilyn Cotant.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be given to the "Coke's for Cotant" account located at Pinnacle Bank in Torrington.
