He was predeceased by: his parents, Edgar Varney and Dorothy Varney (Welte); his brothers, Ransom and Tim; and his former wife Mary Varney (Lowry).
He is survived by: his wife Joy Varney; his brother Matthew Varney (Nancy); his children, Marc Varney (Shiela), Cathy Marsh (Jeff) and Sheri Prince (Jeff); his grandchildren, Erika Shoop (Cody), Michael Matthew, Emily Varney, Britt Marsh (Brenna), Blakeley Lamp (Nicholas), Allison Barker (Logan), Delaney, Brooklyn and Gannon Prince; his great grandchildren, Finley, McCafferty Marsh, Baylor, Beckham Lamp and Briar Barker; his stepchildren, Jeff Fuss (Lora) and Lori Andrew (Tom); his stepgrandchildren, Brennan and Nicole Fuss; and his stepchildren, Thomas Andrew (Dakota) and Callie Andrew.
Memorials may be given to the EWC Foundation, The Goshen County Library Foundation or Saint Rose of Lima Catholic Church.
