She was predeceased by: her husband Alex Floyd Schaneman Sr.; and her parents, Alexander and Christina. She is survived by: her children, Floyd Schaneman (Kathy), Bailey Schaneman (Bonnie), Valerie Grant (Craig) and Martin Schaneman; her grandchildren, Anthony Schaneman (Sabrina), Matthew Schaneman (Rachel), Dustin Grant (Amy), Nicholas Schaneman (Kari), Cody Grant (Kelsey), Alex Schaneman (Brooke), Ginny Landry (Jason), Heather MacDougall (Garett) and Allison Kujawa (Bryan); and her sister Joyce Whipple.

Memorials can be made to the First Congregational Church in Elsie's name.
