He was loved and cherished by many people including: his wife Maria Luz Chavez of Rock Springs; his father Guadalupe Chavez of Hereford; his children, Carlos Chavez (Jessica) of Rock Springs, Rafael Chavez Jr. (Beni) and Linda Chavez (Jaime Flores) of Rock Springs; his siblings, Marcelo Chavez of Rock Springs, Felipe Chavez of Hereford, Alfonso Chavez of Rock Springs, Guadalupe Chavez Jr. of Rock Springs, Manuel Chavez of Houston, Genaro Chavez of Houston, Lucina Chavez of Fort Collins and Celerina Garcia of Loveland; his grandchildren, Marcos Chavez, Alessio Chavez and Nieko Chavez; his mother Angelita Chavez; and his granddaughter Mia Angelita Chavez. He was also cherished by several aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
