He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thomas Dale and Mary Ellen Harris; and his wife Mary Louise Hinz. He is survived by: his sons, George J. Dale (Dawn) of Cheyenne, William "Bill" Dale of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Robert "Jake" Dale (Veronica "Roni") of Rock Springs, Wyoming; his grandchildren, Shawn Pendleton, Robyn Kuck (Jeremiah), Brandi Dale, Laura Dale and Dakota Washam; and his great grandchild Valerie Kuck. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
