He was predeceased by: his father Emmitt Wade VanGilder; his wife Shirley VanGilder; his mother Geneva "Marie" VanGilder; his stepmother Nora VanGilder; and his grandparents, Lonnie VanGilder, Della Fornoff, John Everett Bennett and Alta Belle Roberts.
He is survived by: his daughters, Regina "Gina" Lanning (Stan) of Rock Springs, Wyoming and Teresa McCaslin (Rick) of Big Piney, Wyoming; his grandchildren, Chris Lanning (Kathy), Matt Lanning, Deidre Denison (Chris) and Chandra Holgate (Jared); and his great grandchildren, Isaac Lanning, Maybrie Denison, Wyatt Denison, Brookley Denison, J. R. Denison, Brynnley Holgate and Troy Holgate.
