He was predeceased by: his parents, Edward Getz and Mary F. Creiglow Getz; his wife Mildred Getz; his sister Judy Hyde; and his nephew John H. Smith.
He is survived by: his son Bryan Getz (Tina) of Newberry; and his sister-in-law Mary Schillumeit of Green River. He is also survived by five grandchildren and fifteen great grandchildren, two nieces and one nephew.
