He was predeceased by: his parents, T. P. Powell and Lellae Powell (Simpson); his wife Linda Gavin Powell (Gavin); his daughter-in-law Heidi Garrison Powell; his sister JoAnne Alley; his half-sister Bettye Rice; and his stepfather Lellae Archer (Judy).
He is survived by: his children, Chad Powell of Riverton and Derik Powell of Lander; his close friends, Lidstone, Associates and Engineering; his grandchildren, Dylan Montz (Burgandy) of Montana, Sheridan, Afton Powell of Riverton, Ashley Chidester of Bremerton, Rachaelle Hill of Douglas, WY and Vannessa Powell (Tyler Landis) of Riverton; his siblings-in-law, Gary Gavin (Carrie) and Charlene Schwickrath (Tom); and his stepbrothers, Randy and Marvin Archer. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
