He was predeceased by: his parents, Henry Sauer and Mary Sauer (Wagner); his former wives, Deloris Philpot and Deloris Sauer; his wife Valerie Sauer; his stepson Richard Shelatz; and his siblings, Alma Woodward, Harold Sauer, Gene Sauer, Bill Sauer and Ernie Sauer.
He is survived by: his children, Ernie Sauer (Karen), Lori Morre (Bill) and Tonia Mills (Chris); his stepchildren, Dan Shelatz (Allyn) and Carrie Shelatz (Colleen); and his siblings, Bob Sauer, Kenny Sauer (Karen), Renee Bunner and Mary Sauer. He is also survived by 13 grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren, and 3 great great grandchildren: and numerous nieces and nephews.
