Ernest left this world on March 5, 2025 at the age of 93, leaving a void in the lives of so many people. He was predeceased by: his parents, Wilbur Acton and Nora Acton (Smith); his siblings, Winston, Howard and Erma Diehl (Monte); his wife Patsy Shinn of Montana; and his grandson Shaun.
He is survived by: his children, Cindy Hogan (Richard) of Horsefly, BC, Dr. Scott Acton (Heidi) of Niwot and Kathy Clucas (Lee) of Greybull, Wyoming; his siblings, Cora Sawyer of Billings, Montana and Dr. Loren Acton (Evelyn) of Sparks, Nevada; and his sister-in-law Annie Asplund of Sparks, Nevada. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Riverton Elk's Club Grand Lodge. A burial will be held on Friday, May 30th 2025 at the Mountain View Cemetery (3540 W Main St, Riverton, WY 82501). The inurnment will be held on Saturday, May 31st 2025 at the same location.
