He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl Dierks and Helen Erica Wirsing; his wife Mildred Mae Dierks; and his siblings, Pauline Stearns Welty, Gladys Corkill, Dorothy Schmuck, Alice Sproule, Evelyn Lenz, Myrna Williams and Herbert Dierks (Bud).

He is survived by: his stepson Greg (Debbie); his brother Dean Dierks (Ann); his grandsons, Jack (Kelly) and Glen (Jessica); and his great grandchildren, Lily and Gaeric. He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.
