He was predeceased by: his parents, Bonifacio Castilleja and Nicolasa Castilleja; his wife Brenda Carter; his son-in-law Jerry Solaas; his grandsons, Preston and William; his great grandchildren, Cassidy and Isabella; and his siblings, Santos Castilleja, Victor Castilleja, Domingo Castilleja, Margarita Castilleja and Eloise Castilleja.
He is survived by: his children, Nhut Air Base Vietnam, Belgium, Yvonne Solaas of Paonia, Daniel Castilleja (Wendy) of New Bern, Ramon Castilleja (Teresa) of Rawlins and Ron Castilleja (Jessica) of Rawlins; and his siblings, Frances Ponce (Tony) of Texas, Oralia Tamayo of Texas, Max Castilleja and Manuel Castilleja of Texas. He is also survived by his wife, 2 children and 1 child, his 16 grandchildren, 23 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandson, 1 sister-in-law, 3 brothers-in-law and numerous nieces and nephews.
