He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Lester Buchholtz and Dorothy Buchholtz; his spouses, Shirley Grimm and Joan Kleven; his children, Donny Buchholtz (Doreen), Patsy Taylor (Floyd Archuleta) of Rawlins, Bonnie Nilsen (Mike) of Paulsbo, WA, Jon Buchholtz (Karena) of Anchorage, AK, Timothy Grimm of Orlando, FL and John Kleven (Jennifer) of Richmond, VA.; and his brothers, Charles Buchholtz (Joyce) and Robert. He was also cherished by 19 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren.
