He was predeceased by: his parents, Dick Epperson and Frances Epperson; and his parents-in-law, Hugh and Hope Saxton. He is survived by: his friend Ted; his nephew Tanner; his wife Vanita Saxton; his children, Tami Thaler (Bob) of Newcastle, WY, Danita Stanton of Grand Island, NE and Richard Epperson of Newcastle, WY; his brother Gary Epperson (Doris) of Rockport, TX; his grandchildren, Jeralynn Moser (Brian) of Mason City, NE, Jake Thaler of Laramie, WY, Brittney Thyarks (Jimmy) of Cheyenne, WY and Hope Stanton of Shelton, NE; and his great grandchildren, Kaia, Adelaide, Emerson and Colby. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, in-laws, and friends.
To honor Dan, in lieu of flowers, donations can be made in his name to local libraries, organizations that promote youth shooting sports, such as Upton Young Guns, or the Rocky Mountain Elk Foundation.
