He was predeceased by: his parents, Casper E. Maurer and Alvera Maurer (Carlson); and his son David Maurer. He is survived by: his children, John E. Maurer II, Marianne Maurer (Pennsylvania), Bruce Maurer, Leslie Herda (Arizona), Mardell Aragon, Dominic Aragon (Laramie), Diane Heien and Gordon Heien (Laramie); his grandchildren, Matthew Maurer, Kelly, Phil Payne, Kimberly, Brinton Motto, David, Vicky Maurer (Arizona), Megan Maurer (Arizona), Shelley, Brent Cooper (Texas), Tracy, Denis Hilton (Laramie), Brian, Shalley Aragon (Cheyenne), Cody Heien (South Dakota), Jeremy, Sapphire Heien (Utah) and Kyra Heien (Laramie); and his great grandchildren, Kolton Payne (Pennsylvania), Ian Maurer (Arizona), Alexis Phillips (Arizona), Dominique Cooper (Texas), Erron Hilton (Laramie), Avery Hilton (Laramie), Tayvin Aragon (Cheyenne) and Chase Aragon (Cheyenne).
