He was predeceased by: his parent Helen Payson; and his sister-in-law Heidi Payson. He is survived by: his parent Henry Augustus; his wife Dulcia Payson of Riverton; his children, Melvin L. "Geezer" Bowling (Paula) of Kemmerer, Becki Weber (Ron) of Shoshoni and Esther (Sergio Jimenez) of Penrose, Colorado; and his brother Howard J Payson. He is also survived by two nieces and two nephews, and several cousins.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Museum of the American West in care of Davis Funeral Home, 2203 West Main Street, Riverton, WY 82501.
