He was predeceased by: his parents, Elizabeth and Harry Sr.; his son Steven; and his granddaughter Amber. He is survived by: his wife Jan; his children, Bruce, Jonathan and Sarah; his grandchildren, Lauren, Morgan, Kellen and Cole; his sister Janice Minton; and his nieces, Cathy Green, Elizabeth Myers, Cynthia Gwilliams and Christie Hall.

Toward the end of his career, he donated an eight-foot, wood-carved eagle to the grounds of the Cheyenne Veterans Affairs Hospital in Wyoming, honoring all who have served our country and those who support them.

“I am sorry for your loss- my mother also passed recently at nearly 92. I am currently going through old photos and I find many with what looks like your H. C. Gurney, Jr. If he grew up in a suburb of IL near La Grange (Western Springs, La Grange Park?), he knew my mother, Grace Johnson--even took her to the high school senior prom.
