He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Richey and Johne Richey; his sister Carolyn Flynn; and his pet Moja. He is survived by: his wife Cynthia "Gidget" Richey; his daughter Sondra Hendricks (Jeremy); his grandchildren, Collin, Garrett and Briley; his stepdaughter Danielle Bodenhamer (Joe); his stepgrandchildren, Autumn, Kalyn, Trinity, Kraven and Kadence; his stepson Bobby Cooper (Amanda); his stepgrandchildren, Sierra, Andrew and Avery; his sister-in-law Sherrie Richey; and his pet Mbili. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, grand nephews, grand nieces.
