He was predeceased by: his parents, Leo Garlach and Kathleen Garlach (Freego); his son Darrell Garlach; and his brothers, Lee Harry Garlach and Garth Peter Garlach.

He is survived by: his wife Jonnie Garlach (Brooks); and his sisters, Faith Heidal (Garlach) and Beth Anderson (Garlach). He is also survived by nephews and nieces.
