He was predeceased by: his parents, Theron Atkinson and Norma Moon Atkinson; his brother Duane Atkinson; and his son James Tyson Atkinson. He is survived by: his close friend Kendall Rockhill; his wife Kae Atkinson; his children, Bret Atkinson (Christy), Michelle Murphey (Glenn), Nicole Hatch, Tiffany Chandler (Loren) and Jade Smith (Travis); and his brother Carmen Atkinson. He is also survived by 20 grandkids, and 21 great grandchildren.
