It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Helen Hanway of Ethete, Wyoming, born in Fort Washakie, Wyoming, who passed away on January 6, 2023, at the age of 87, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Mattie Bull and Sam Antelope; her husband Gilbert Hanway, Sr.; and her children, Mary Jane of Washington, Ramona YoungBear, June Hanway, Gilbert Hanway, Jr., Donald Hanway, John Manuel Chaves, Jr., Seattle Hanway and Laney Benally.
She is survived by: her sons, Laziur Hanway, Sr., Vernon Hanway and Fredrick Hanway; and her great great grandchildren, Antelope, Blackburn, Brown, Blackman, Blackbull and Norse. She is also survived by 22 grandchildren, 46 great grandchildren.
