He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter Fredrick and Bertha Susan Kant (Borner); his wife Ruby Louise Goodwin Layman (Parker); and his siblings, Jerrie Lynn Kant Cassinat and Charles William Kant.
He is survived by: his sons, Bradley P. Kant of Lance Creek and Walter F. Kant of Lusk, Wyoming; his brother Michael Forest Kant Sr. of Douglas; his grandchildren, Coral Ellsworth, Danielle Kant and Alexander Kant; and his great grandchildren, Lilly Rae, Liam Rae, Lane Rae and Camden Kant.
