He was predeceased by: his parents, Franklin Monroe and Kathryn Mae Carrethers (Merritt). He is survived by: his children, Malik J. Carrethers, Yusef B. Carrethers, Raven L. Petersen and Gabriel Carrethers; his grandchildren, Robin C. Carrethers, Trinity Paintin (Zayne), Randon J. Paintin and Isabell M. Paintin; and his great grandchild Elara G. Ferguson.
