He was predeceased by: his parents, John Harlan and Hazel Beardin (Smith); his son John Thomas Hancock; and his sister Laquita Johnson. He is survived by: his wife Martha Beardin of Esterbrook; and his children, Cynthia Sullivan of Texas, Larry John Beardin of North Carolina and Lynnette Hancock of Esterbrook. He is also survived by twelve grandchildren; and five great grandchildren.
