He was predeceased by: his parents, Ferris Bruce and Mary Kathryn Bruner (Dunn); his wife Mary Helen Bruner (Brankin); his siblings, Archie Thomas Bruner and Sibyl June Prager; his grandson Brian Joseph Bruner; and his great grandchild Tyler Nuhn.
He is survived by: his children, James Ferris Bruner (Gwen) of Dubois, William Joseph Bruner of Douglas, Philip Charles Bruner of Douglas, Marie Anne Koppa of Douglas and Thomas Gordon Bruner (Linda) of Mesa, Arizona; his grandchildren, Diane Nuhn, David (Michelle), Elizabeth, Craig (Andrea), Amy Jessen (David), Shay Clark, Steven (Bridgette), Eric and Andrea; and his great grandchildren, Cameron Clark, Kyle Nuhn, Kyler Hoffman, Sebastian Bruner, Ryan Bruner, Abigail Bruner, Isabelle Bruner, Aysha Bruner, Tehya Bruner, Brooklyn Jessen, Payten Jessen and Christopher Kingsbury.
