He was predeceased by: his parents, Lester McCard and Florence McCard; and his sister Lois. He is survived by: his nephew Lonnie Carrier; his siblings, Maxine Webber (Bud) and Mickey (Barb); and his close friend Carol Briggs. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless close friends.

George eventually grew to 6ft and was donated to the Denver Zoo.
