Acton (Smart); his wife Avis (Houston); his children, David Acton Jr. (Kara) of Burns and Kimm Brookshire (Kevin) of Cheyenne; his siblings, Jim Acton (Jeannie) of Burns and Patsy Roehr (Jim) of Cheyenne; his sister-in-law Cheryl Houston of Aurora, CO; and his grandchildren, Anthony, Addison and Gracie Acton. He was also cherished by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
