He is survived by: his son David L Johnson of Casper, WY; his stepsons, Barry Gammon and Mark Gammon of Houston, TX; and his grandsons, Robert A Johnson of Casper, WY and Jack Ryan Johnson of Sheridan, WY. He is also survived by many great-grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Friday, April 4th 2025 at 10:00 AM, at 12:00 PM and at 1:00 PM at the Oregon Trail Veterans Cemetery (600 CY Ave, Casper, WY 82601).
