He was predeceased by: his parents, George Nichols and Evelene Nichols; and his parents-in-law, Frank and Evelyn Clark. He is survived by: his wife Lois Nichols; his sisters, Kathleen Hawkins and Michele Gulledge; his children, Wil Nichols (Amber Nichols), Nick Nichols (Lora Nichols) and Jim Usay; and his grandchildren, Melissa Smith (Austin Smith), Dally Nichols, Rhett Nichols (Lacy Nichols), Taylor Nichols and Kloe Nichols.
He was the President of the Sublette County Roping Club for six years, and his contributions to the sport of rodeo was paramount, bringing the first PRCA rodeo to the Chuckwagon Days.
