He was loved and cherished by many people including: his siblings, Delman Johns and Layne Haderlie; his children, Kelli Fortier (Ron), David Johns (Robin) and Jeff Johns (Shellie); his former wife Linda Harzke; and his daughter Staci Dockery.

He had been battling dementia and Alzheimer's the past 8 years.
