Lois Addair Obituary

Berta "Lois" Kirk Addair, age 78 of Yukon, WV passed away Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Dogwood Crossing Senior Living in Tazewell, VA following a long illness. Born September 26, 1942 in Dingess, WV she was a daughter of the late Ballard Kirk, Sr. and Mary Baisden Kirk. She was a 1960 Honor Graduate of Big Creek High School in War, WV and a 1964 Honor Graduate of Concord University, Athens, WV.

Lois was a proud retired schoolteacher from the McDowell County School District Board of Education. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, reading, crossword puzzles, pets, and spending time with her family and friends. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Ballard Kirk, Jr. Those left to cherish her memory are her sister and brother-in-law, Patricia "Sue" (Kirk), and Vic Wayne of Worth, Illinois; her beloved husband of 46 years, Harold Gene Addair of the home in Yukon, WV; their only child, her beloved daughter, Rhea Michelle Addair of Tazewell, VA, and one grandson, Bret Martin of Coalwood, WV; and a host of family and friends.

The family wishes to thank the staff at Dogwood Crossing, Tazewell, VA, MSA Hospice, Richlands, VA, Peery & St. Clair Funeral Home, Tazewell, VA, and many friends and family. Due to Covid-19 concerns, private graveside services are planned with burial at the Riffe Family Cemetery on Atwell Mountain in McDowell County, WV.
