It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Harriet Ann VanKirk of Worthington, West Virginia, who passed away on February 13, 2025, at the age of 86, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by: her parents, Peter Claude Bower and Margaret Helen Bower (Deweese); her mother-in-law Faye VanKirk (Roy); and her sister-in-law Sharon Nicholson. She is survived by: her husband Francis Lee VanKirk, Sr.; her children, Carol Myers (Steve) of Idamay, Margaret Keller (Randy), Francis Lee VanKirk, Jr. (Kristina) of Worthington and Peter Burton (Tammie) of Mt. Nebo; her grandchildren, Jeremy Morris (Andrea), Jeff Morris, Joseph Morris (Leah Runion), Andrew Harrison, Evan Harrison, Matthew Tibbs (Jamie), Michael Tibbs, Peyton VanKirk-Barone (David) and Kendra VanKirk (Quint Markley); her great grandchildren, Aiden Morris, Beau Morris, Nayleigh Runion, McKenna Morris, Aden Tibbs, Brennen Tibbs, Anna Malone, Christopher and Andrew Harrison, Jr.; and her great great grandchild Kadens Malone.
Visitation was held on Monday, February 17th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 8:00 PM at the Dorsey Funeral Home (701 S Pike St, Shinnston, WV 26431). A funeral service was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the same location. A burial was held on Tuesday, February 18th 2025 at the Shinnston Memorial Cemetery (1359 S Pike St, Shinnston, WV 26431).
