He was predeceased by: his wife Rochelle Green Adkins; his parents, Audra Adkins and Sadie Ball Adkins; his siblings, Dorothy Reffitt and James Adkins; and his brother-in-law Frank Green Jr..
He is survived by: his children, Roy Adkins Jr. of St, Albans, Michael Adkins (Kelly) of Mount Lookout, Kathy Hudson (Larry) of Scott Depot, David Adkins (Suzi) of Elkview, Joseph Adkins (Terina) of Winifrede and Jason Adkins (Dreama) of Bomont; his brother William Adkins (Ruth) of Wayne; his sister-in-law Linda Holstein of Charleston; and his grandchildren, Sherri, Caleb, Gabriel, Steven, Daniel, Nathan, Ashley, Joey, Kathleen, Joshua, Jason Jr., Justin, Jacob and Thirteen. He is also survived by Thirteen Great Grandchildren.
