He was predeceased by: his wife Madeline; his son-in-law Pastor David Thaxton; and his grandson David Scott Thaxton. He is survived by: his child Kermit E. Smith; and his wife Terry. He is also survived by Six Grandchildren, 10 Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandson.
