He was predeceased by: his wife Dolores Harvey Carter; his son Harold Steven Carter; and his parents, John Wesley Carter and Alice. He is survived by: his daughters, Stephanie Caldwell (Joe) and Tina Carter; his grandchildren, Keturah Bishop (Josh), Alissa Pottorff and Elijah Carter; his great grandchildren, Emily Carter, Arya Parsons and Willow Bishop; and his sisters, Nancy Sharpe (Richard), Gladys Rabon and Johnette Drayton (Jimmy).
