He was predeceased by: his parents, Jennie Pecco Nelson and Frank Nelson; his siblings, Charles Eddie Nelson and Marie Nelson Fletcher; and his brother-in-law Donald Evans.
He is survived by: his wife Linda Sias Nelson; his children, Christie Layne (Cheston), Angel Bevins (Tommy) and Brandon Nelson; his grandchildren, Tyler Nelson, Baby Kaitlyn Layne, Jamie Layne and Holly Bevins; his sibling Helen Evans of Abingdon, VA; and his sisters-in-law, Annetta Nelson, Darlene Ball (Bill) and Bonnie Warren.
