He was predeceased by: his parents, Loren Collins and Lola Collins (Picklesimer); his brother-in-law John E Sheppard II; his brothers, Loren Collins Jr., Kenneth Collins, William Collins (Bill) and Leroy Collins (Elizabeth); his nephews, Loren Collins, James Collins and John Collins; his niece Tammy Akers; and his great-nephew John E Sheppard IV.
He is survived by: his wife Eleanor; his children, Robyn Winter of Logan, David Collins (Britney) of Logan and Taunya Vance (Randall) of Logan; his grandchildren, Morgan Mattas of Huntington, WV, Julia-Faith Mattas of North Carolina, Joseph McKnight, Isaac Vance, Kasen Collins, Mylee Smith, Parker Vance and Ella Collins; his great grandchildren, Scarlett Webb and Norah Jane Napier; his siblings, Shelby Sheppard, Jesse Collins (Mae) and Frank Collins of South Carolina; and his friend Elbert Johnson.
