He was predeceased by: his parents, James Carl Burr, Sr. and Ruth Thompson Burr; his brother James Carl Burr, Jr.; his sister-in-law Anita "Kitten" Burr; his nephew James Carl Burr, III (Cathy); his former wife Pearl Murphy Burr; and his stepchildren, Danny Ross Honaker and Donna Honaker Mark.
He is survived by: his wife Shelva Honaker Burr; his stepchildren, Ricky Honaker (Joanna), Mike Honaker (Lisa K.), Cynthia Honaker Wu, Belinda Honaker Jameson (Paul), Shane Honaker (Kristi), Gary Murphy (Judy), Donna Carillo (Chico) and Sharon Grapka (Michael); his nieces, Ruth Miller (RJ) and Anita Butts (Donald); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Robert, Charlie, Joseph Miller, James C. Burr, IV, Maggie and Allison Butts. He is also survived by 18 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren.
